In November 2009 two investors i.e. Batavia Biopharma and TNO Technostarters successfully launched Batavia Bioservices BV and the company was fully operational as of January 1st, 2010.

The year 2010 proved a year of rapid growth for the company which involved hiring additional staff and significantly expanding the infrastructure. Also, in this year its subsidiary, Batavia Bioservices Inc, was launched in the USA.

In 2011, Batavia Bioservices acquired Xendo Manufacturing BV adding to its services portfolio knowhow and capabilities in microbial fermentation as well as Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) purification technology. The company also, announced the opening of a sales office in London (UK).Finally, Batavia Bioservices also heavily invested in setting up Clinical Manufacturing capacity, again driven by customer demand.
